8 Months!

Parker you are eight months old today!  What have you been up to lately?

• You are in a size three diaper

• You eat pretty much any Gerber stage 1 and stage 2 baby food. You have started to eat cheerios and little puffs to help you learn how to chew. Mommy cannot bring herself to give you the nasty smelling turkey and chicken, so we will work on that. She might wait until she can just give you the real thing.

• On January 25th you said Da Da for the first time. You are also saying “ba” now and then. You are definitely in the babbling stage.

• Over the past month you have had two teeth come in. One is a little further along than the other. You are barely fussy during the day. Sometimes at night you wake up for mommy and daddy to put some oragel on your gums. That makes it feel better for you. This week you have had a runny nose and a really low fever, both we think are attributed to the teething.

• You have become so much better at taking naps…praise God. You take about an hour to two hour nap in the morning and afternoon, and a 30 minute power nap between 5 and 6. You have become a little night owl…I can’t wait for the weather to get warmer so we can start going on walks in the evenings. You stay up until 8:45 or 9:00 and sleep until around 7:00.

• You and Mox aren’t exactly the best of friends. You are constantly crawling to his frog, something that Mox doesn’t like at all. We do the best we can to keep the two of you separated. He always comes around you to see what’s going on. You smile and crawl to him, and all he does is snarl and snap at you. Your daddy says one day you will be bigger than Mox and he will regret all these moments he hasn’t been nice to you.

• You love bath time. You still lay in your sling to get clean, but then it is playtime! You love to sit up and splash. You splash mommy, the wall, yourself…everything…and you think it is hilarious. Once you start climbing and moving (more like sliding) around it is time to get out.

• You don’t like lying still for diaper changes and you don’t like getting dressed for the day.

• You pull up on anything you can hold on to. This weekend mommy and daddy are going to get you a toy you can stand up and push around. We think this will help you learn how to walk!

• This month you have been to two baby birthday parties! Mommy has lots of friends with babies your age…and you performed at each of them!

• Mommy and daddy cannot believe how fast you are growing. Just yesterday we were holding you in our arms for the first time. Before we know it you will be walking…and talking…and ready for a brother or sister (wink). Man o man…what a fabulous 8 months it has been.

Parker loves his blanket.  He doesn't take a pacifier or suck his thumb.  This is pretty much his security blanket.

Since lowering his crib all he does is stand up when not sleeping!

He hates to be changed and demands to sit up while he is getting dressed...and chew his crab!

Parker loves mirrors.  Isn't this cute??

We got Parker this neat toy that he can push and also ride.  It will help him learn how to walk.  Here he is giving directions to his daddy.

Success!  It is a big rig truck!

He absolutely loves it!

He can sit on it and ride around too...with someone pushing of course.

Parker loves his mommy and his mommy loves Parker!

Parker had fun at his first Chuck E Cheese experience.  He loved Chuck.

Happy 8 months my sweet angel!
